Alexandria is the main service village of North Glengarry, with Main Street carrying the local retail, restaurants and services, and the surrounding township given over to dairy and cash-crop farming, woodlots and rural residential. The community is genuinely bilingual — French and English are both everyday languages here, with a strong Glengarry Scottish heritage layered on top.

Business here runs on reputation and proximity. A contractor, a farm-services supplier or a clinic in Alexandria is competing for households within a fifteen- or twenty-minute drive, not a regional audience.

Farms and acreage need a different shoot from a suburban house. The buyer wants to understand the parcel: total area, field layout, bush, drainage, road frontage, the position and condition of barns and outbuildings, and how the residence sits relative to all of it. That is one drone pass and a handful of ground frames, not thirty interior photos. Village homes near Mill Pond and along the older streets need the opposite emphasis — interiors, light and the walkable setting.
